Stone Lake Beach
Whether you’re here to swim, paddle, picnic, or just relax in the sun, Stone Lake Beach delivers!
Tucked inside Soldier’s Memorial Park in La Porte, Stone Lake Beach is the kind of spot locals love to brag about and visitors are thrilled to stumble upon.
With sandy shores, a family-friendly vibe, and easy access to the water, it’s one of those places where you can spend the whole day without ever running out of things to do.
Stone Lake Beach is generally open from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day (~10am - 6pm) with lifeguards on duty during the peak season.
These times can vary a bit depending on weather and staffing, so it’s always smart to double-check before you go.
Stone Lake Beach is free to enjoy - there’s no admission cost to use the beach or the nearby parking lot.
There’s a dedicated lot right by the beach inside Soldier’s Memorial Park.
Spaces can fill up on hot summer weekends, so it’s worth coming a little earlier in the day if you want easier access.
Pets are not allowed on the designated swimming beach. If you’re bringing a dog, you’ll need to stick to other parts of Soldier’s Memorial Park where leashed pets are welcome.

Can I fish from shore?

Tips for visiting:
Beat the crowd: If you want the beach a little more to yourself, go earlier in the day or on a weekday. Weekends, especially in July, can get busy.
Pack the extras: Sunscreen, towels, and a portable chair go a long way. A beach umbrella isn’t a bad idea either if you’re planning to stay all day.
Stay for sunset: Stone Lake puts on a good show in the evenings. Grab a spot along the shore and you’ll see why it’s a favorite.
Mix it up: Don’t just stop at the beach - take a walk around Soldier’s Memorial Park or rent a kayak for an hour to really get the full lake experience.
