The Macabre is a group exhibition at The Rising Phoenix Gallery on view September 4 through October 31, 2026, timed to the turning of the season and the darkening of the days. Featuring artwork by Salem Slater, Sophia Papata, Dennis Maloney, and Katherine Cundiff, the exhibition examines themes of mortality, mystery, folklore, psychological unease, and the poetic unknown. Rather than leaning into fear, the work celebrates the allure of the shadowed and strange - those spaces where imagination deepens and storytelling thrives.
