The Teen Arts Council at Lubeznik Center for the Arts hosts a free Lacemaking Workshop with the Illinois Lace Guild on May 28 from 4:30 to 6:30pm. Bobbin lace is a centuries-old art form once so prized that laws restricted who could make and wear it - and the Illinois Lace Guild is keeping that tradition alive and accessible. Teens will learn the basics and create their own cell phone or keychain charm to take home. All materials provided.
This free workshop is open to local teens ages 13-18. To register, contact Education Director Nelsy Marcano at nmarcano@lubeznikcenter.org or call 219.874.4900.
